Queen of Hearts is a 60/40 progressive raffle with 60% going to the winner and 40% going to Post 130.
Players buy ticket(s) from the bartender on duty for $5.00 each for a chance to pick a card on the Queen of Hearts board. There is a limit of $300.00 on the number of tickets you may purchase at one time.
The drawing will be held every Thursday at 7:00 pm in the lounge. If the number on your ticket (with your name, phone number on the back of the ticket, and the card number you want from the board) is drawn and matches your name, you get a chance to pick that card from the Queen of Hearts board.
The card selected by the person holding the winning ticket drawn will pay out as follows:
- Face cards and Aces (except the Queen of Hearts) will pay $50.00
- Jokers will pay $100.00
- The two of clubs will pay $50.00 if drawn and the game will reset to all 54 cards
The card selected by the person holding the Queen of Hearts winning ticket will receive 60% of the proceeds from the total through the previous week. The winner will receive $100.00 payable in cash the night of the drawing. The remainder will be payable by check picked up at the Post 130 office by the winner the following weekday.
Winners of $600.00 or more on any one win will be given a W2-G by the Queen of Hearts volunteers to complete and submit to the volunteers. No payout will be made without a completed W2-G.
RULES FOR THE DRAWING GAME INCLUDE:
- Tickets placed in the drum will be disqualified if there is evidence of tampering, i.e. applying stickers, folding, rolling, tearing, crumpling, etc.
- Only one name, phone number and the card number you want from the board can be on a ticket.
- Only American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary members or their guest(s) can play the game. Guests must sign the book at the entrance to the lounge.
- It is the responsibility of the players to be sure the ticket half with their name is in the raffle drum by 6:59 pm.
- Tickets can be purchased after the drawing on every Thursday at 7:30 pm, but before the next drawing.
- Each week, as the pot grows, there will be different colored tickets.
- If a player is not present for the drawing, the playing card number they selected on their ticket will be turned over for them by an Officer (if present) or the bartender on duty. If that person picks the Queen of Hearts, the name on the ticket will win 50% of the jackpot rather than 60%.
- The remaining jackpot amount rolls over to the next week if the Queen of Hearts is not drawn.
- If the two of clubs is drawn, the game will be reset with all 54 cards placed back on the board. The pot will remain and grow until the Queen of Hearts is drawn.
- The amount of the jackpot will be posted in the lounge each week after the drawing on Thursday.

- All the rules of our Queen of Hearts game are done with the authority of the Maryland Attorney General and strictly adhere to the gaming laws of Maryland and the Maryland Income Tax Provisions.
